EVENT DESCRIPTION

He's baaaaaaack! If you attended the 2024 SDBA NEXT STEP: Emerging Leaders Summit in October 2024, you'll recognize this year's Power Hour speaker: Jack Stahlmann! And if we missed you last year, you're in for real treat. No, seriously. Jack is a high-energy, funny, engaging and 100% authentic. During this year's Power Hour, Jack will share his message: The Upside.

The post-covidian era has created unique problems like staffing shortages, burnout and the increasing creep of a workplace staple: Negativity. Inspired by a certification from Yale on The Psychology of Well-Being, this is the newest of Jack’s presentations, so it still has that fresh keynote smell. In a nutshell, this program is about how to navigate negativity in the workplace and Jack examines how challenging times can bring big things to anyone, if you look in the right place. But as the GI Joe Fallacy (yes, that GI Joe) demonstrates, simply seeing the silver lining is not enough. It’s the doers who find the upside. Because in a world with so much downside, you can always find a way to… up yours.

ABOUT JACK STAHLMANN:

Jack Stahlmann’s informative and educational presentations are built around his experiences in Los Angeles as an actor, producer, director — and of course, a waiter. In Hollywood, he launched his own production company which created several films that enjoyed international success and was an Assistant Director for the Margaret Cho stand-up show, Cho Revolution. As an actor, his shining moment came in a co-star role on the CBS drama Cold Case, where he played a wimpy park ranger. He also appeared on Days of Our Lives and several commercials. Jack graduated with honors at DePauw University (yes, DePauw with a W) and has been a regular contributor to HuffPost. For the last decade he has been entertaining companies, schools and associations worldwide, while delivering actionable takeaways to make a real difference in the workplace.

The SDBA NEXT STEP: Emerging Leaders Power Hour is held at the end of the day, just before what you're really looking forward to: Happy Hour! Jack will speak to our group for roughly 20-30 minutes, leaving time for questions and discussion. Stay on for any time left to catch up and network with fellow emerging leaders in the industry! Registration is required to help us manage our Zoom numbers; however, there is no cost to attend. Here are the details:
