Agricultural Credit Conference
The Agricultural Credit Conference focuses on the unique needs of ag bankers and the need for quality information and training to better serve their customers. Experienced and new ag lenders, as well as CEOs, will all benefit from this conference. The 2026 Conference will be held at the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center in Pierre, July 15-16.

Annual Convention

Emerging Leaders Summit
NEXT STEP: Emerging Leaders Summit is designed to help cultivate, connect, engage and empower South Dakota’s future bank leaders. This event encourages emerging bank leaders to find and express their voices and provides opportunities to network and exchange ideas. The 2026 Summit will be held in Deadwood, SD on Wednesday and Thursday, October 28-29, at the Lodge at Deadwood.

IRA Seminars
The SDBA offers the IRA Basics Seminar once a year in January and the IRA Update Seminar twice a year, once in the fall and again in the spring. The next IRA Spring Update will be held in March 2027, in Sioux Falls, SD. The Fall IRA Update will be held virtually on Thursday, November 19, via Zoom.

New Accounts Seminar
With constant new regulations, complex business account multi-level structures and the growing popularity of trust accounts, the necessity for ongoing new account training is paramount. State Legislative Day
The State Legislative Day held annually in Pierre is an opportunity to stay up-to-date on legislation which could affect the banking industry, visit with state legislators and constitutional officers, and make sure the industry is heard. It includes sessions specifically for emerging bank leaders. The 2027 SDBA State Legislative Day will be held in Pierre on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Women in Banking Conference
LEAD STRONG: Women in Banking is designed to encourage, support and inspire women to succeed in the workplace. This event will benefit all levels of staff interested in the enhancement and career growth of women in South Dakota banking. The 2026 SDBA LEAD STRONG: Women in Banking Conference will be held in Sioux Falls, September 22-23.

Tri-State Trust Conference
The Tri-State Trust Conference, hosted by the NDBA each spring, focuses on trust officers' unique responsibilities and their need for quality information and training to serve their customers. Washington Summit
The ABA Washington Summit provides an opportunity for bankers to tell lawmakers and regulators how rules and regulations impact their ability to serve their communities and to hear from Washington insiders. South Dakota bankers also visit with the state's congressional delegation and network with colleagues from across the country. The 2027 ABA Washington Summit dates are March 8-10.
