SDBA Groups and Categories

The Association is composed of five groups of counties. Each group is represented on the Board of Directors by one elected director. In addition, one director is elected to represent the four categories listed below.

* The SDBA Board of Directors approved changes to the groups and categories, which will take effect on May 1, 2020. See the changes in the revised SDBA bylaws.


Group I: Banks in Brookings, Clay, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Turner, Union and Yankton counties

Group II: Banks in Brown, Day, Clark, Codington, Deuel, Grant, Hamlin, Marshall, Roberts and Spink counties

Group III: Banks in Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme, Brule, Buffalo, Charles Mix, Davison, Douglas, Gregory, Hand, Hanson, Hutchinson, Hyde, Jerauld, Lyman, Sanborn and Tripp counties

Group IV: Banks in Campbell, Corson, Dewey, Edmunds, Faulk, Hughes, McPherson, Perkins, Potter, Stanley, Sully, Walworth and Ziebach counties

Group V: Banks in Bennett, Butte, Custer, Fall River, Haakon, Harding, Jackson, Jones, Lawrence, Meade, Mellette, Pennington, Oglala Lakota and Todd counties


Large Commercial Bank Category: Banks with deposits of $500,000,000 or more

Large Community Bank Category: Banks with deposits between $75,000,000 and $500,000,000

Country Bank Category: Banks with deposits of less than $75,000,000

Credit Card Bank Category: Any member of this corporation which designates themselves to be primarily a "credit card bank"
