SDBA’s Legislative Day is your opportunity to stay informed on both state and federal legislation which could impact the banking industry. This is your opportunity to actively participate in shaping the future of banking in our state. This gathering promises insightful conversations, networking, and direct engagement with key policymakers.

All events will be held at the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center at 920 W. Sioux Ave. in Pierre. All times are Central Standard Time.

*Bankers, including emerging bank leaders, are welcome to visit the State Capitol on their own in the morning to observe legislative committee hearings. To view committee schedules, visit www.sdlegislature.gov.

9:00 a.m. - Emerging Leaders Breakfast | Here’s your chance to connect with your Emerging Leader colleagues over a great cup of coffee and your favorite breakfast. Location will be at the Ramkota but exact spot is TBD. Check back soon!

10:00 a.m. - Registration Opens

10:30 a.m. - Legislative Committee Meeting (open to all)

12:00 p.m. - Luncheon | Governor’s Address – (Governor invited to speak)

1:00 p.m. -  All Things Workforce - Marcia Hultman, Secretary, SD Department of Labor & Regulation, Pierre, SD | Secretary Hultamn will discuss key trends, challenges and opportunities in the evolving job market.

2:00 p.m. - ABA Policy Update (virtual) - Justin Melvin, VP Congressional Relations, ABA, Washington, DC | Join Justin as he dissects the latest regulatory changes, legislative updates, and key policy shifts impacting the banking sector.

2:45p.m. -  The Power of Your Voice - Karl Adam, President, SDBA, Pierre, SD | You’re engaged with the SDBA. You’re at Legislative Day. You’ve heard the bills of interest to the banking industry. What next? Karl will share with you tips and tricks for making your voice heard with your legislators.

3:30p.m. - Hill Visits | Transportation on your own to the State Capitol located at 500 East Capitol Avenue.

4:30 p.m. - Emerging Leader Happy Hour | Connect, collaborate and cultivate relationships with fellow emerging leaders in a relaxed setting. Join SDBA staff and other emerging leaders in the Ramkota lounge for a chance to network prior to the legislative reception at 5:30.

5:30 p.m. - Reception
