SDBA and NDBA are joining forces to present “FHLBank System Update: From Des Moines to Washington”. This webinar will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 2:00 p.m. CDT. There is no cost to participate, however, we do ask that you kindly register using the link above to help us manage our Zoom account effectively.

Over the past 18 months, banks have seen how quickly the industry can change. Join FHLB Des Moines President/CEO, Kris Williams, as she provides an overview of the current state of the FHLBank System and FHLB Des Moines. She will highlight the impact of the Bank’s strong member partnerships over the past 90 years and the impact those partnerships have on the communities we serve. She will also discuss the potential for changes resulting from the FHFA’s review of the FHLBank System as well as the ramifications of these changes. She will end the session with a Q&A session.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Kristina “Kris” Williams is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. Kris joined FHLB Des Moines in January 2020. She began her association with the Federal Home Loan Bank System in 2004.

Prior to her current role, she served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, a position she held from 2011-2019. In that role, Kris had responsibility for all member-facing departments, including community investment, communications, bank operations, MPF, member services and information technology. In her 15 years with FHLB Pittsburgh she also held the positions of Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Financial Officer and acting Chief Risk Officer. Prior to working for FHLB Pittsburgh, Kris spent 12 years with PNC Financial Services in its wholesale bank and six years in public accounting.

Kris is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion. She routinely speaks on these topics. Her background also includes several financial advisory assignments on behalf of the FHLBanks. She is serving on the boards of Great Des Moines Habitat of Humanity and the Great Des Moines Partnership. She is a member of the Greater Des Moines Committee. She previously served as the vice chair of the West Liberty University (WLU) Board of Governors. She was the development committee chair of the board of directors for Strong Women Strong Girls of Pittsburgh.

Kris has an undergraduate degree from WLU and Masters of Professional Accountancy from West Virginia University. She also has an inactive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from WLU in 2015.
