Greetings from the SDBA. I’m writing to inform you that we have had a positive COVID exposure within the SDBA of fice. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of our members, the dec ision was made to cancel the live portion of the Women in Banking event, bu t continue with the virtual component. All registrations have automaticall y been converted to virtual and everyone will be receiving the links to joi n both the connection hour as well as Thursday’s sessions. If you are not able or willing to participate virtually, please let Jeanine (jdyce@sdba.com) know and we will cancel your registr ation and provide you with a refund. If you had made a hotel reservation, please cancel promptly.

J oin us Sept. 23-24, 2020, for Lead Strong: Women in Banking, which promises to educate, enlighten and engage. This year, we are providing three regist ration options. Join us live at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, join a w atch party in Rapid City at the Mount Rushmore Society Room or join virtual ly via Zoom from the comfort of your home or office. All sessions will be r ecorded for viewing at your leisure. For those choosing to join live in Sio ux Falls or Rapid City, social distancing will be practiced and the use of masks is strongly encouraged. We will continue to closely monitor the COVID situation to ensure the safety and well-being of our members. Should the n eed arise to hold this event only via Zoom, your registration will automati cally convert to virtual.
Register early to receive a goodie box, which will be mailed to each virtual participant or available at your seat if attending live. It provides flexible, accessible funds to improve the health and wellbeing of women with limited resources. Herseth Sandlin will also provide practical advice on best practice s working with your organization’s board of directors. Herseth Sandlin grew up on her family’s farm near Houghton, S.D. She attended college in Washin gton, D.C., earning a law degree from Georgetown University. In 2004, she b ecame the first woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Sou th Dakota as well as the youngest woman serving in the House. After leaving Congress in 2011, she became partner in a Washington, D.C., law firm and i n 2012, joined Raven Industries in Sioux Falls as general counsel and VP of corporate development.
