Banking Schools Overview

The South Dakota Bankers Association holds, sponsors, endorses and promotes various schools across the Midwest to facilitate our bankers' needs. Each school is comprised of in-depth, face-to-face instruction by qualified and experienced instructors. Students are able to earn credits towards degrees, certifications, and continuing education as well.

SDBA Schools

The National School for Beginning Ag Bankers is an school designed for those just starting out in agricultural lending. This school is held in June (odd-numbered years) at Black Hills State University - Spearfish, SD and is limited to 72 students.

The National School for Experienced Ag Bankers is an intensive school designed to train in all facets of agricultural lending with emphasis on credit analysis, credit scoring, risk rating, problem loans and group case study.This school is held in June (even-numbered years) at Black Hills state University - Spearfish, SD and is limited to 72 students.

Dakota School of Banking (SDBA Endorsed School) Held on the campus of Jamestown College, the Dakota School of Banking provides a focused education of the banking industry. Bankers at all levels benefit from the well-rounded curriculum that builds on fundamental skills and focuses on emerging trends. Students enroll for two years, attending one week each summer.  Scholarships are available. This school is held in June at the University of Jamestown - Jamestown, ND.

SDBA IRA School- IRAs still have unlimited potential. Fewer people are qualifying for pensions, and more than 50 percent of all employees work for an employer that doesn't offer any type of retirement plan. IRAs are the alternative, so let’s work together to see how we can increase your IRAs. The South Dakota Bankers Association (SDBA) offers its IRA School each September at the Clubhouse Hotel & Suites in Sioux Falls, S.D.
