 Ask the Fed

What is the Ask the Fed® program?

Ask the Fed® is a national webinar program that provides critical information on recent financial and regulatory developments. Selected topics must be timely and represent new information for the audience. Expert speakers discuss topics for 30-45 minutes, followed by a “live” question and answer period. Bankers can register for a free account and can access all sessions, including archived sessions, at www.askthefed.org.

Each session is hosted by Julie Stackhouse, Executive Vice President of the St. Louis Fed’s Supervision Division, and she is accompanied by topical experts, including subject matter experts from the Board of Governors and each of the other Reserve Banks.

Our Audience

Ask the Fed is designed for executive-level officials at state member banks and bank and savings and loan holding companies and their boards of directors. We also invite state banking commissioners and, as of December 2016, state banking associations to participate in the sessions. Currently, more than 27,000 banking and regulatory officials are signed up to receive alerts for Ask the Fed sessions.

Participation

Positive word-of-mouth has increased the number of Ask the Fed® participants since the program’s inception in 2008. Our first ten calls (starting in late-2008) averaged 150+ attendees per session; in 2016 we averaged more than 1,000+ attendees per session.
