Scholarships

SDBA Foundation provides a variety of banking scholarships to help students.

4High School Scholarship Money 
Scholarships are available in $500 increments to the first 120 banks who agree to match an equal amount. (Online Form. Complete the form online. Print it to your printer and send, fax or email it to the SDBA.)  Suggested Criteria for Scholarship Application

$1,000 Herman Lerdal Scholarship
At any South Dakota College or University awarded to a junior with an expressed interest in banking, finance or business. Application must be submitted by March 4, 2011. Application forms are available from your campus guidance counselor, financial aid office or on the South Dakota Bankers Association website.

$1,000 Joyce Hazeltine Scholarship
At any South Dakota College or University awarded to a junior with an expressed interest in banking, finance or business. Application must be submitted by March 4, 2011. Application forms are available from your campus guidance counselor, financial aid office or on the South Dakota Bankers Association website.

$1,000 David S. Birkeland Scholarship
At any South Dakota College or University awarded to a junior with an expressed interest in banking, finance or business. Application must be submitted by March 4, 2011. Application forms are available from your campus guidance counselor, financial aid office or on the South Dakota Bankers Association website.

$1,000 Alan B. Graff Scholarship

At any South Dakota College or University awarded to a junior with an expressed interest in banking, finance or business. Application must be submitted by March 5, 2012. Application forms are available from your campus guidance counselor, financial aid office or on the South Dakota Bankers Association website.

$1,000 @ University of South Dakota

$1,000 @ South Dakota State University
Awarded to a junior studying ag economics or ag business. For additional information and application forms contact:  Dr. Don Marshall, College of Agriculture, SDSU, Brookings, (605) 688-5133.

$1,000 @ Dakota State University 
Awarded to an incoming graduate student in information assurance with bank security specialization. For additional information and application forms contact: Chris Giles, Dakota State University, Madison, (605) 256-5693.

$1,000 @ Lake Area Technical Institute
Awarded to a first year student majoring in consumer banking or agri-banking. For additional information and application forms contact: Tom Paulson, Lake Area Technical Institute, Watertown, (605) 882-5284 ext. 268.

$1,000 @ Southeast Technical Institute
$500 awarded to two students majoring in financial services for an applied science degree. For additional information and application forms contact:  Mary Freiborg, Southeast Technical Institute, Sioux Falls, (605) 367-7464. 

$1,000 @ Black Hills State University

$1,000 @ Northern State University
