Personal
Economics Programs (PEP)
The need
for students and adults to have a sound background in personal
finance and an understanding of our nation's economic system
is self-evident. To address that need, the American Bankers
Association, with resources provided by the ABA's Education
Foundation, developed the Personal Economics Program (PEP) in
1977.
PEP is a
voluntary effort of bankers working with educators to
supplement educational programs by making presentations on
topics such as personal finance, banks and banking, and the
financial system. PEP is offered in South Dakota through the
South Dakota Bankers Foundation by a network of
key bankers who make presentations about banking and personal
finance to schools and other interested groups in their
communities.
